Why Asymmetric?
When you go to the mountains, to the forest, or just for a longer hike, you probably wonder what equipment you will need. Depending on the season, the expected weather, tasks and the route you intend to cover, you choose the optimal equipment. Regardless of what you are going to take with you, the first decision (or the last one) will be choosing a backpack that will hold all the necessary things.
How much can be packed into a given backpack is as important as the method of packing (the number of compartments, side pockets, internal nets, or the possibility of external strapping), and above all, easy access to the contents of the backpack during the trip. We would like to focus on the last issue - this is what we focused on when designing our ASymmetric.
Experience has shown that in a backpack designed for all kinds of hiking, going to the forest or simply when using the backpack every day, the most important - apart from the appropriate carrying system, which we will write about next time - is to provide easy access to the interior. And easy access is the one that is the widest, it allows a full overview of the packed equipment without having to take it out. At the same time, the backpack should guarantee quick access to the most necessary elements of our equipment.
To enable such access, it was necessary to properly design the shape of the main compartment, skillfully arrange the internal pockets, and above all, to develop a method of closing the backpack. For this purpose, in ASa we used two splash-proof zippers and a quick fastening that allows you to open the backpack to the full extent with practically one movement. It is also possible to open the top section - then use the narrower access, ensuring the use of the most necessary, or open the zipper along the full height of the backpack. Such action will allow us to gain access to individual layers of our equipment, while protecting them against falling out and weather conditions.
The presented methods of accessing the inside of the ASa backpack complement each other and will prove useful during every, even the smallest, trip or road to work. What do you think?
